Samsung Techwin to Introduce the SDP-960 Document Camera

Ideal for colleges, business, and the courtroom
Samsung Techwin America’s Electronic Imaging Division (www.samsungpresenterusa.com), a market leader in document camera technology, announced the SDP-960 document camera providing multiple, high resolution outputs at 30 fps for smooth and fast video display on a sleek new platform—ideal for colleges, businesses, and courtrooms. “This Digital Presenter has been designed with Samsung’s superior optics and features that customers have long recognized and appreciated,” said Richard Bellomy, V.P. of Sales for the Electronic Imaging Division. “Now with a wide array of selectable resolution outputs, slim profile design, and wide angle viewing area, the SDP-960 is sure to become a standard piece of equipment in both the courtroom and classroom.”
Even though the default display resolution of the SDP-960 is SXGA, it can be changed to WXGA, 720P, 1080P, UXGA, and even XGA. This document camera also comes with a built-in preview monitor, digital image rotation, a mask function, and a stored profile of only 2.6″ in height. Equipped with Samsung’s proprietary ISP chipset and 2D/3D dual noise reduction technology, the SDP-960 provides crystal-clear, noise-free results even in the darkest rooms.
With a 48X combined zoom (6X Optical + 8X Digital), the SDP-960 delivers the quality you’d expect from Samsung. The fast and accurate auto focus lens can display 3D subjects with great detail, as well as documents up to 11″x17″ size on the platform. The SDP-960 is compatible with both USB thumb drives (up to 16 GB) and SDHC memory cards (up to 32 GB), and can not only save still images, but also record movies with audio up to 640×480 at 30fps.
Just as in the SAMCAM 860, the SDP-960 can also function as a web cam allowing it to be used with many popular lecture capture applications as well as Skype. The bundled Samsung Viewer application is compatible with both Mac and PC operating systems, and will work with all existing interactive whiteboards. A new twain driver is included, as well as a standalone remote control application for use with 3rd party software.
The SDP-960 includes two, switchable VGA inputs with pass through, along with VGA, DVI, and composite video outputs. A built-in microphone is included, as well as a separate microphone jack, speaker output, and a security mounting thread on the base of the unit (1/4 20 tripod socket).
