NEC to demo short voice messaging service ‘Bubble Talk’
LAS VEGAS, USA (AVING Special Report on ‘NXTcomm 2008′) — NEC demonstrated a carrier-grade ‘Click, Talk, and Send’ asynchronous short voice messaging service ‘Bubble Talk’ at NXTcomm 08 in Las Vegas.
This new messaging alternative to the ‘Type and read’ service provided by text SMS works on all handhelds and across operators and networks. From any mobile phone, the sender dials a * key followed by the mobile number of the recipient. After the BubbleTONE, the sender speaks the message and simply hangs up to send the message.
According to the company, it has been successfully deployed by seven mobile operators including Vodafone, Airtel, DiGi and planning to expand a variety of carriers around the globe.
